EJ Ajax commits itself to work towards the definitive goal of providing our employees and community with an environment that is free from air, water and land pollution through continuous environmental performance improvement, prevention of pollution, and compliance to all relevant environmental legislation and regulation. Environmental objectives and targets are set and reviewed. The environmental management system is documented, implemented, maintained, communicated to all employees and is available to the public.
EJ Ajax is a member of Minnesota Waste Wise and has an active recycling program for plastics, cardboard, paper and aluminum beverage cans.
EJ Ajax and Sons, a contract manufacturer of world class precision metal stampings and sheet metal fabrications formally announced the company`s green Metal Forming Initiatives that adhere to stringent environmental protection laws.
The company`s environmental standards, including recent energy conservation measures, mandate material recycling, water conservation and air quality preservation. In addition to tool production guidelines, EJ Ajax also features a number of unique, environmentally friendly tool designs that save raw materials.
EJ Ajax’s metal forming plant recycles all waste products, including many tons of scrap metal each week, along with oils and all leftover raw materials, reducing the cost and environmental impact of the metal forming process. Other recycling includes, used light bulbs,office paper, aluminum beverage cans, batteries and used computers. All shop rags and leather gloves are washed and re-used.
The factory features state-of-the-art clean air systems that prevent toxic emissions from getting into the environment. EJ Ajax also recently began energy conservation practices to lower the company`s energy consumption in the plant with high efficiency lighting, set back thermostats, and motion sensor light switches.

Sustainability Base Line for WAGEL
As part of our GREEN SPIRIT initiative, our new WAGEL (Water, Gas
ELectric) goal is a 15% reduction per unit of all water, gas & electricity consumed in the E.J. Ajax plant by 2012 using 2008 as a base year. |
